【リリース情報】MILES DAVIS QUINTET – LIVE IN EUROPE 1967: THE BOOTLEG SERIES VOL. 1

マイルスのボックスものと言えば、中山康樹が激しく批判するように、看板に偽りありの期待はずれのものが多かったが、今回のリリースはこれまでとちょっと異なるようだ。なにしろ、タイトルがBootlegである。しかもVol.1。はびこる海賊版の撲滅と、マイルスの音源を体系的にリリースすることを、ようやくカスクーナが自覚したと言うことか？（マイルスの遺族がいろいろと妨害になっていたという可能性もあるかもしれないが）。

内容は、第2期黄金クインテット（マイルス、ショーター、ハンコック、カーター、ウィリアムス）のヨーロッパでのライブを収録したもので、ラジオ音源から取られている様子。パリ公演もあるが、フランスの放送局は高いロイヤルティを要求する事で知られているため、いろいろと交渉も難航したであろう。ブートレッグとあるが、Disc 2のデンマーク公演は初出の様子。ともあれ、CD3枚組＋DVDの収録曲は以下の通り。

オフィシャルなので、音質はある程度良いだといいが……気になるのは、収録曲の関係か、1公演1CDでまとめられていない点だが、その分、価格が安く抑えられることを期待したい（現在、アマゾンで6000円強）。また、抜粋盤のCDも発売されるようだ。

マイルスのオフィシャルサイトでも販売をしている。日本へは送料合わせて4000円程度。アマゾンでもそのぐらいで売られていた時期もあったので、リリースまで値段を見て、どちらか安いほうで買うといいと思う。
